Wedding Theme Decorations

by Karin Koch

You can have a romantic fall feeling by using decorations that bring in the warmth of the season to the guests tables. The focus of your decorations could be obtained by using the colors of freshly turned leaves and seasonal fall flowers. If you prefer winter, you can use candles, tea lights, and small red plants on each table and sprinkle artificial snow around them. Thinking that spring is your favorite season, you could use potpourri scented as roses and add a long stemmed rose to everyones plate. Summer decorating themes can be reflected with wedding decorations that give the illusion of the beach, sun and ocean. You can do your wedding decorations around any theme that defines your personalities. Consider a Golf Theme with Golf Tee Favors or personalized golf balls; a Seaside Wedding with sand, seashells and umbrellas; Valentines Day where you could use anything heart shaped such as picture frames, candy conversations hearts, or cookie cutters; Easter themes could include using a plastic champagne glass with the stem and bottom filled with Easter basket grass. A few foil covered chocolate eggs or Hersheys kisses could be placed on the top of the grass and the glass could be covered using tulle fastening with a small ribbon to hold it closed. A Christmas theme could have red poinsettia throughout the room and covering the tables; add silver or gold decorative balls scattered within the poinsettia and small white candle.

Wedding decorations can also be designed around a specific color scheme. If everyone knows your favorite color is purple, you can plan for balloons, candles, and flowers in your special color. Mirrors brighten up the tables and enhance the overall theme selected for the reception and reflect your colors back into the room.

The possibility for themes is endless, with Halloween, Christmas, 4th of July, Irish or other ethnic themes such as Asian, Jewish, Amish or whatever fit in with your style. Whatever your choice, you can make memories of your special day linger on and on.
